First Class Sailing Spain is the Balearic arm of First Class Sailing, a Germany-based charter agency (Yacht-Charter-Operator GmbH, trading as First Class Sailing) that also runs bases in Croatia — Pula, Punat, Biograd and Rogoznica. The operator runs two neighbouring Mallorca bases rather than one: Club Marítimo in Can Pastilla, in the eastern part of Palma Bay near the airport, and Marina Naviera Balear in the centre of Palma's own harbour, added as their newest Balearic base in 2025. Two bases: Can Pastilla and Palma

First Class Sailing Spain's original Mallorca base is Club Marítimo in Can Pastilla, on the eastern shore of the Bay of Palma — a marina the operator describes as their base in the "tranquil" Club Marítimo, previously known under its former operators as "K.P. Winter" and "Yates Baleares". According to the operator's own site, it sits under ten minutes from Palma Airport.

In 2025 the operator added a second, newer Mallorca base: Marina Naviera Balear, in the middle of Palma's own harbour, a short walk from the old town and the cathedral. First Class Sailing describes this as roughly 20 minutes from the airport by taxi. From Palma Airport to either base

Confirm which of the two bases your boat is at when you book — the transfer differs by around ten minutes either way.

Can Pastilla, the operator's original Mallorca base, is the closer of the two: First Class Sailing's own site puts it at under 10 minutes from Palma Airport (PMI), reflecting Can Pastilla's position on the eastern edge of the bay close to the airport approach road. Marina Naviera Balear, the newer central-Palma base, runs roughly 20 minutes away by taxi according to the operator, since it sits further round the bay in the heart of Palma's harbour.

Both options are short enough that a pre-booked taxi or hire car is the practical choice for most charter guests arriving with luggage and provisions; Palma Airport has a standard taxi rank and all major hire-car desks in the arrivals hall. Once at Marina Naviera Balear, guests are within easy walking distance of central Palma's restaurants and shops for pre-charter provisioning; Can Pastilla has its own beachfront strip of cafes and supermarkets closer to the pontoons. As a general planning range for boats of this size and age in Mallorca during peak season, expect roughly €2,600–€4,000 a week for the 37–41ft monohulls and catamarans, €4,000–€6,000 for the 42–48ft range, and €6,000–€10,000+ for the 51–56ft boats including the Moody 54 flagship, with lower rates in shoulder season. Where boats from Palma Bay can reach in a day

Distancias realistas, no distancias de marketing.

From either Can Pastilla or Palma, the closest easy destinations sit along Mallorca's south-west coast: Cala Portals Vells and the Portals Vells caves are a short run from Palma Bay, well within an hour, and popular with day-charter guests for their clear, sheltered water. A little further along the same stretch, Illetes and Illa des Sec offer calm anchorages close to Palma's western suburbs, realistic even as a half-day out for a boat starting from either base.

For a fuller day, Port d'Andratx and the cliffs around Sa Dragonera island sit further west along the coast — a longer outing that rewards an early start, with dramatic scenery and, at Sa Dragonera, a protected nature reserve worth the extra distance. Both bases can reach this stretch of coast within a comfortable day's sail given typical Mallorca summer conditions.

Cabrera, the national park archipelago south of Mallorca, is the ambitious option: it requires a permit to visit (limited daily numbers, arranged in advance) and a longer crossing than the west-coast coves, so it suits a full-day or overnight itinerary rather than a casual stop — check current permit rules before planning a Cabrera day with First Class Sailing Spain's boats.
